Teaching

At Durham University, I currently teach the new third year Computer Science module Computational Modelling in the Humanities and Social Sciences, part of Natural Language Processing, and co-teach the Learning from Data and Natural Language Analysis modules of the Business Analytics MSc programme. I’ve also previously taught the Networks component of the Networks and Systems module.

At Harvard, I previously taught the courses EASTD 135: Text and Data in the Humanities, CHNSHIS 202: Digital Methods for Chinese Studies, and EASTD 110: East Asian Digital Humanities at East Asian Languages and Civilizations, which introduced graduate and undergraduate students in Chinese and East Asian studies to practical programming skills and digital humanities techniques that can be directly applied to their research projects.
