About

Originally from the UK, I am currently based at Harvard University as a postdoctoral fellow at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies and lecturer at the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations. My main interests are in language, mind and knowledge in early Chinese texts, as well as digital sinology and the application of digital methods to the study of the language and literature of pre-modern China.

I am also the creator and administrator of the Chinese Text Project, a major online collaborative digital library project for pre-modern Chinese texts. The library has an active crowd-sourced editorial community, is accessed by well over 20,000 individual users each day, and is one of the 3000 most frequently visited websites worldwide in Taiwan and Hong Kong, where many of its users are based.
